Earth Eagle ‘Good Helmet’ Schwarzbier
Good Helmet: 8.5 – A Schwarzbier made with sorachi ace hops (?). It’s lighter in color than most Schwarzbier, also a bit mellower in upfront flavor, but it’s got a long finish that is delicious, We could drink these all god damn day, but then again who doesn’t love a schwarzbier?

British Navy Pusser’s Rum 750mL
This rum sucks ass. We want to be as clear and upfront about this as possible. We want the damn Google search results to include this first bit of text about how much ass this rum sucks. Do not buy this unless you want a headache, or because you’re a Royal Navy sailor and England is forcing this upon you and calling it a ration.
Anderson Valley Brewing Company ‘Horse Tongue’ Wheat Ale
Horse Tongue: 7.0 – That tart bit of sour and the wheat combine in a way that makes this feel sort of like a red ale. It’s nice and crisp, and that sour is bringing a bit of fruit, but the barrel aging brings it all down to stop it from being overpowering. It’s actually really good.

The BenRiach 10yr. Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750mL
Given as a Christmas gift, it’s always enjoyable to try out a new single malt that you’ve simply never had before. What we get is something that clearly has some faults, but brings such a nice warm and well-spiced flavor that placed in a glass neat makes this a damn fine gift.
Single Cut Brewing Hop Sounds Dry-Hopped Kolsch
Hop Sounds Dry-Hopped Kolsch: 7.5 – There’s a very unique sort of sweetness going on there that comes back in the long aftertaste. The fruit here is very nice, and it’s a very nice kolsch that does a lot of very nice things.

Monkey in Paradise Vodka 750mL
Maybe it’s seasonal depression given this review is happening mid-Jan, but this vodka just evokes a mindset that makes you sort of want to hate it. It’s got this naming and imagery that seems more at place on a rum, and yet we can’t deny – it’s actually an all around above average vodka.
Burlington Petal Prophecy Honey IPA
Petal Prophecy Honey IPA: 7.0 – This site tends to shy away from IPAs (unless you are River Styx brewing), but we still try IPAs despite our bias, and review the ones we like – this is one of those. While there ideally would be just a touch more honey or spice to make this an amazing beer – it’s an IPA worth talking about.
Price Average: $13 for 4-pack cans
