Made in a castle in a village that bears the whiskies name. Made with a unique process of ageing. Made with too many words talking about itself we have this – Slane Whiskey. A truly unique Irish Whiskey, in that it tastes not like a typical Irish whiskey but is also not really great.

Omnipollo Selassie Imperial Stout
Selassie: 3.0 – Essentially it is just an imperial and not much else. The coffee or vanilla is so far gone and overall as a stout it’s just not good.
Price Average: $16

Benham’s Sonoma Dry Gin 750mL
When one thinks of Sonoma County one typically thinks of wine. The question then arises, well if they’re so good at wine, are they good at making anything else. With that, we have a gin, and while it’s a single data point and is therefore inconclusive we have an answer – no they can’t.
Newburgh Brewing Co. Cream Ale
Cream Ale: 6.5 – It’s light and hoppy but that cream style really is what makes this special even if that’s just a classic style.
Price Average: $13

Bell’s Brewery Oberon Ale
Oberon: 6.0 – They say spicy hops and fruit, but here’s the real story. They threw gushers into this beer. It’s really like a nice wheat beer with that as aftertaste.
Price Average: $10 for 6-Pack

The Christian Brothers Brandy VS 750mL
Well, last week was about America so let’s move on to some Christi- dammit. Yes, dear readers now that we’ve scrubbed out whiskey onto its own day we can finally kick brandy and cognac into high gear, and as a lower gear (in terms of cost/tier) this is, for the most part, a pleasant one to drive in.
Oxbow Luppolo Italian Pils
Luppolo: 6.0 – It’s a sort of nice, mellow pilsner, and the aftertaste is clean making it nice easy drinking.
Price Average: $7 draft

Ragtime Rye Straight Whiskey 750mL
We have a few sins one can commit on this site. First is the lack of frank discussion about spirits and their companies. The second is the usage of language meant to confuse people not familiar with spirits to make it seem like secret knowledge. With that in mind here’s a company from 2009 peddling as a prohibition whiskey that because New York has ‘terroir’ is a good whiskey. What a load of horseshit.
