Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel
Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel: 8/10 – We really liked this quad, nice and heavy beer. The Buffalo actually Erik Ferris’d it. One of our better finds from Armsby Abbey

Thornbridge Kipling Pale Ale
Thornbridge Kipling Pale Ale: 6.25/10 – Says it’s South Pacific (New Zealand) Style Pale Ale, but all that really does is bring an initial fruity taste followed by the bitterness. Better in our mind than other Pale Ale’s. The fruit by the way is Orange-y/Tangerine and Grapefruit as far as we can tell so it’s a good citrus without being all lemony or something else.

Wachusett Quinn Amber Ale
Wachusett Quinn Amber Ale: 5/10 – More like an Irish red ale instead of an amber. It blends that pit of spice with it’s beer, and overall it’s not bad, but it’s not a great beer.

Berkshire Brewing Company Coffeehouse Porter
Berkshire Brewing Company Coffeehouse Porter: 7.75/10 – This is hands-down my personal goto Coffeehouse porter. COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE. This is a good beer, but the coffee taste is rather prevalent so if you’re like me and not into coffee that much this can be a bit daunting, otherwise though please do buy.

Bink Grand Cru Dark Belgian Ale
Bink Grand Cru Dark Belgian Ale: 7.75/10 – There’s a nice bit of malted hops, reminiscent of a stout, but it’s not heavy enough. Surprisingly light for such an overproof beer.
Google Shop Average: Bink Grand Cru Dark Belgian Ale $16

Rogue Honey Kolsch
Rogue Honey Kolsch: 4.5 – We’re big fans of Rogue beers, and the fact that they raise the bees is cool, but as far as Kolsch and other light beers, the honey is so muted that it’s more distracting.
Google Shop Average: Rogue Honey Kolsch $13

8 Wired Grand Cru Quadruple
8 Wired Grand Cru Quadruple: 3.5/10 – Again at this tasting at Julio’s we have another sour beer, this time a quad – a beer meant to be meaty and full – this is light and sour. I understand that quad’s vary, but how you can have a quad like Allagash and thing a sour burp is the better taste is beyond me.

Bruery Tart of Darkness
Bruery Tart of Darkness: 1.5 – It’s a stout, wait no it’s not. They decided to put spices and age the beer in barrels, and I have to wonder if they just had a large bad batches of beer, and are trying to pass it off as a ‘sour stout’ which are words that just seem like they shouldn’t be in the same sentence. I enjoy tart things, but even for tart this beer is just awful. Bruery is a fantastic company, and we enjoy many of their beers, but not this.

De Molen Rook and Vuur
De Molen Rook and Vuur: 7 – This was brewed with smoked malts and peppers, and it shows. We actually enjoy the taste, reminds us of a new good meaty beer. The spice is rather nice here and doesn’t kill the beer.
Google Shop Average: De Molen Rook and Vuur $8
