Cambridge Brewing Company Wake up the Sun Belgium Saison
Wake up the Sun: 6.0 – It is a bit like a sour and there is a long bittersweet like aftertaste. Overall it fits the ideal of a sun shiny beer.
Price Average: $11
Mystic Brewery “Mary of the Gael” Spring Saison
Mary of the Gael: 7.5 – It is simply a delicious farmhouse ale. No faults, lots of easy flavors, and a nice balance of spice citrus and hops.
Price Average: $12

Bluecoat American Dry Gin 750mL
We’re back again on our American gin fix. Last time it was Dorothy Parker in NY, now we head a bit south to Philly, and a bit back to revolutionary times. (Both gins are made by modern recipes and such, but whatever). For a slightly overproof and pretty bottle though is the bluecoats better than the redcoats?
Thomas Hardy’s Ale (2017 Vintage)
Thomas Hardy’s Ale: 1.0 – That is like if a british bitter and a porter fucked on a couch made of stale beer and cigarettes. It is horrible. It’s thick and unpleasant, and basically has all that toffee/caramel business in the worst way. It’s like what would hapopen if you burnt the sugar somehow in a bourbon barrel aged beer.
Price Average: $8

Cedar Ridge Iowa Bourbon Whiskey 750mL
We really do like when companies such as Cedar Ridge take the step from being things like a winery or brewery or pub and branch out into the spirits game. That being said at the top let’s get into why this small batch bottle of ‘bourbon’ isn’t exactly what we had in mind.
Ommegang Game of Thrones Mother of Dragons Smoked Porter & Kriek Ale Blend
Mother of Dragons: 7.5 – Much like Daenerys that title is really really long. The beer however is really really good though, so hail to the breaker of chains. Not a huge surprise as Ommegang even with these beers are middling at worst. But that cherry flavor isn’t ruined by a smoked porter flavor, and it really does blend together nicely. The beer color is also amazingly poignant.

Dorothy Parker New York Gin 750mL
Dorothy Parker was a famous New Yorker, made popular by poems, plays, and working for the New Yorker/Vanity Fair. Dorothy Parker gin is – okay. It’s an interesting gamble by the New York Distilling Co. (props though for making a NY spirit while in NY unlike some folks). For most people they won’t know Dorothy Parker by name, maybe by her photograph, but even less likely from her works or lifestyle.
