El Zarco Silver Tequila 750mL

Another Silver tequila that I’ve picked up in lieu of a party (why my friend can’t handle other tequilas is beyond me). This one is a bit interesting because it’s a much more value price. It also is not sickengly sweet or downright awful – in fact the only real complaint about this is the Eurotrash look and feel.

elzarco

Otherwise this is a passable mid-tier average vodka at an otherwise average price. If like you me you need to just pick up a silver tequila you won’t be wrong getting this.

What they Say: “We live in the town of tequila. Our Blue Agave is hand-harvested and double-distilled to make great tasting, fresh tequila. Please let us know if you like it at hello@i-love-elzarco.com”

Taste: 5.0 – Fine initially, it’s a hint of agave and sweetness

Aftertaste: 3.5 – Then it just kicks in and boy is it a whopper.

Burn/Smooth: 4.0 – Partially from an actual burn, but also just on the taste this isn’t smooth.

Aroma: 5.5 – It’s an okay smelling tequila.

Honesty: 5.5 – They have a sappy email in the text, a blue Eurotrash-style grabbing bottle – and they’re just not tapping into the truth that tequila can offer.

Mixability: 5.5

Tequila and Lime: 5.0 – Okay.

Tequila Sunrise: 6.0 – It’s not a bad Sunrise

Value: 5.0 – Actually not a bad budget silver vodka if you can handle the looks in your bar.

Google Shop Average: $16

Final Thoughts: I guess if I had another point to add against this – is that it’s just not as exciting a tequila. The scores here are all very close to the median unlike some other spirits where it does well in some areas but falls flat in others. It’s just a bland-feeling average tequila.

  1. Really pretty bad taste. Tried to mix it with OJ – not a good taste then added grenadine for a sunrise – threw it out. What am I going to do with this large bottle of crappy tequila.

  2. It has a strong meaty flavor of agave as a after tast resonating in your mouth, I suggest steak or pork grilled . mixes well with mago lemonade garnish with lime twist.

  3. Maybe these other reviewers got a different batch, I picked it up at Winco under $10 for a mixer, I think the “eurotrash” bottle is a pretty nice design, not traditional, but it got my eyes. I wasn’t expecting much, good enough to mix with lemonade or margarita, but for a low price mixto it’s surprisingly good, with a definite Agave flavor, smoother than some puro agaves I have that I’ve paid 3 or 4 times as much for . . . not much complexity, but no faults, doesn’t taste like paint thinner or soap as some well known brands do, a lingering finish with a bit of heat (tequila? with heat?) . . . I’m sipping it neat now, and it’s fine. Great value.

    1. Absolutely agree…this is a good tequila that deserves better reviews than some I’ve seen. I like to sip it over ice and I can’t find anything wrong with it. Price is right and so is the product.

  4. I love the way it mix wit grapefruit juice and a slice of lime over lite ice,1800 is my drink so it’s a big step down from what I’m used to way smooth,1800 is more potent.

  5. The design caught my eye and I rather liked it. It was simple and elegant. It was too tall to fit in my liquor cabinet, but no biggy. I enjoyed it on the rocks, with Sprite and a twist of lime, with grapefruit juice and with mango juice and a splash of Sprite. I found it to be much better than other kinds of tequila I’ve had. The price was pretty enticing too. It was only $11 where I live.

  6. I bought this to mix and if you buy the mix with Tequila already in it and triple sec will you got a god drink. It’s not Proton!!!

  7. Mixed good with Oj to me not that strong but A very smooth taste… . I actually like it and I normally drink Jose

  8. I love this Tequila.. I use it in Margaritas so good & smooth.. The after taste is a bonus that’s what has me hooked.. This bottle last me awhile 11$ is not a bad price either..

  9. I disagree with the author. This tequila mixed with margarita mix and lime is delicious, and I actually love the aftertaste. It is the main reason I buy the brand. It’s around $20 where I live, which I think is reasonable.

  10. Pretty good taste man , i love it good stuff good price ,,no hangovers :):):) but y only wenco have it ? More stores need it .love it good job @elzarcosilver “”””loveeit””””

  11. I work in a liquor store and found ZARCO gold in the store room and gave it a try I am a Jose Cuervo gold drinker but when I tried Zarco gold was very impressed so now we have it on the shelves. Smooth gold tequila very nice love it.

  12. I love this tequila!! My absolute favorite!! When I couldn’t find it in a store I had my friend mail me some from a store that I knew carried it!! Now I just discovered it comes in 1.75 liter bottles and it’s changed my life!

  13. I am a Tequila drinker/only Tequila Gold first time to try this brand, I have tried almost all the other brands, I think this one was very smooth, great smell, great price also. I will continue to purchase this brand, and will recommend this brand to others.Over-all $ great/ taste/ very good/ 3 stars

    1. Also my birthday is Oct 8. A bottle of your Zarco would be a great present from you guys……thank you Mary Norman🤗

  14. I feel like this review is a bit pompous/snobbish. I almost feel as if the bottles of this tequila in my bar bar are watered down, but I’m pretty much positive that they’re not…it’s just that..this tequila is so smooth and good, that it leaves me suspicious. The bar that I work in (a Mexican restaurant), this is our well tequila.
This is like the Jamo of tequilas. To me, it’s so easy going, it’s much like taking water shots, as a Jamo is to the average Chicago industry folk. Expecting a well tequila to be not much, I was shocked at how good this was, when I started taking straight, warm shots. Then a customer bought be a shot of chilled Patron. After becoming accustomed to the taste of Zarco, I nearly gagged after the Partón shot (I’m no wimp when it comes to shots of anything, btw, but with the reputation ((and price)) that Patron has in comparison), and it burned so badly!
With Zarco, it’s smooth, and you can taste the agave essence. I’ve never had a problem after drinking it either. I mean, for the price, the stuff is amazing! I might even be my favorite (and I’ve worked in the liquor industry for awhile..not just bartending, bit for distributors also), I know a lot about Tequila, and am just shocked at how amazing this stuff is…is it real??

  15. One of the better tequilas I’ve had the pleasure of tasting while living in Colorado. Now that i have moved to Texas would love to have it at my regular bar or liquor store. Actually working really hard at trying to sell it.
