Happy Memorial Day everyone, hopefully, you are enjoying the nice weather with some barbeques, some brews, and a nice margarita. Normally this is the bit where we change from something nice into why this sucks – but not this time. That’s because of this publish date this is the best-rated tequila overall on this site.
Once again we touch of the 2 main pillars of why HonestBoozeReviews exists. Mostly because anyone who sees random scores of 90-100 in a shop are being led astray and competitions are all bullshit. There is the secondary aspect though that only by trying things at random can you, the average person remove yourself from the rut you thought was good, only to find it was ‘good enough.’
What they Say: “” (Nothing)
Taste: 8.0 – Light, clean, and actually damn good tequila. If the price is right, our other tequila’s of choice might want to watch out.
Aftertaste: 6.5 – That backend is just pure agave through and through end to end. All things considered, that’s preferable actually to it taking a nose dive.
Burn/Smooth: 7.5 – Tastes good, and it’s actually smooth? Oh, buddy.
Aroma: 8.0 – It’s nice, there’s the right amount of agave, and nothing off or terrible smelling. Just a little more kick and it’d be damn near perfect.
Honesty: 8.5 – So they have a pour spout mechanism, but it actually – works? It’s not that awful kick-start method. Which kudo points for being better bottle engineers. The labelling based on minor research seems new and the nice square look they’ve gone for is tasteful and works. Then the glory of glory though is they say nothing to ruin it.
Mixability: 7.5
Salt and Lime: 7.0 – This works well with the salt especially to bring out more of that flavour.
Margarita: 8.0 – You need to make it a bit stronger, but damn that’s a good marg.
Value: 8.0 – The problem here is that 1800 does come in (comically) large bottles making it still the goto for your well-tequila. But goddamn if the choice between the two was at this scale this would win every time. There are some better tequilas out there, but often a bit pricier, and that’s it.

Final Thoughts: Days like today are why we like this job. (Not that anyone pays us, we do it all for you) Because especially over a recent lash of bad tequilas it’s so nice to find something so good, and it’s doubly nice to find a new leader in the board of tequila.
