Wow, time really does fly by. Three years ago we reviewed the Reposado of this and mused about trying the Anejo in bourbon barrels. While we didn’t build up any expectations, sadly we were still let down kind of. The main issue seems to be that by ageing it in bourbon it’s oddly picked up harshness and isn’t the smooth sipping tequila it should be.
Leinenkugel Snowdrift Vanilla Porter
Snowdrift Vanilla Porter: 7.0 – That is actually a perfect sort of ‘snow resort’ porter. It’s not so heavy that you need to rest afterwards, and it’s not like you get anything but a sort of cocoa/vanilla like aftertaste that lingers. It’s nice and crisp and good.
Price Average: $8 for 6-Pack

Hevelius Kaper
Hevelius Kaper: 4.5 – You do certainly notice it being a stronger more alcoholic lager. Sadly that contributes more to the enjoying parts of the taste detracting from the rest. Overall if you are looking for a beer to get drunk on there are better choices.

Nautical American Gin 750mL
The idea of a Nautically themed spirit interested us (largely because our DnD group just took a pirate ship – yeah we’re a pack of nerds). Sadly this was received about as well as a splash of salt water. (And we don’t mean in a refreshing slap to the face kind of way.
Cisco Brewers The Woods ‘Lady of the Woods’ Ale
Lady of the Woods: 8.0 – This says oak barrel aged, but this is not a regular oak. It’s a delicious sour/wild ale that isn’t sharp at all, and is both mellow, tropical, and tart in the right ways. Been a while since something truly stood out here, but this is it.

Lagunitas Brewing Co. Bavarian Style Doppel Weizen
Doppel Weizen: 7.0 – It nails the Bavarian style quite well, and is a pleasant beer to drink. The small bits of fruit, hops, spice, and nutty work really well.

Belvedere Vodka (Product RED Edition) 750mL
Time for a vodka review that you’d think we’d have already clearly done – but we haven’t. Yes up there among the Ciroc and the Grey Goose is a Polish vodka known for being skinny and having trees and a French sounding name.
