The image below does a decent job of catching how blue and striking this case and bottle are, but it’s certainly not the same thing. One would think something like this would have happened before what with the whole movie industry getting behind the teal-and-orange color palate, but it’s refreshing to see on a liquor store shelf. The scotch overall though is classic ‘fiddich.
Berkshire Brewing Company Shabadoo Black & Tan Ale
Shabadoo: 5.0 – It’s a black and tan combo that actually tastes quite good. Sadly it’s a black and tan combo meaning the blend of the beers affects the layering. Also while this was freshly opened the beer felt flat unlike a fresh black and tan would.
Price Average: Shabadoo $5
Cambridge Brewing Company The Great Pumpkin Ale
The Great Pumpkin Ale: 6.0 – An okay pumpkin ale? Sure, but a great pumpkin ale? Not really I’m afraid. While its got a nice balance of pumpkin vs spice flavor its slightly above par and that’s it. I commend them for not going full spice (or more recently like Sam Adams 20lbs full vegetable) but it’s overall flavor and enjoyment is simply not ‘great’
Price Average: Name $8
Captain Morgan Cannon Blast Rum 750mL
So I realize that on the Halloween special reviewing Jack-o-Blast we stated “Haha, nice try Captain Morgan, while we appreciate the product synergy, we will get Cannon Blast on our own time.” It turns out that time is now. We also promised not to be nice, but fair. In all fairness though this looks like it’s meant to blow your arm clean off – but much like how it’s appearance could be called a tarted-up gimmick so too can the rum sadly.
SingleCut Beersmiths – Forty Things We Share
Forty Things We Share : 4.0 – Imagine a pale ale mixed with orange soda. That gives you an idea of the look, and to a certain degree the taste this beer provides. Its an okay hoppy pale ale (apparently is an American Double/IPA and Imperial), but the citrus here is more like koolaid citrus… I can’t find any mention of it on the site, and if it wasn’t showing up on the old BA and untapp’d I’d almost question if it really existed at all.
Price Average: Forty Things We Share $7 draft

Unibroue Terrible Ale
Unibroue Terrible Ale: 4.5 – There’s a bit of tartness and there’s a lot of enjoyment in this dark ale. However while it’s so close to being a great beer, there’s something else about this as an undercurrent. Something that makes this just an okay beer.
Price Average: Unibroue Terrible Ale $10

Rough Rider Bull Mouse Three Barrel Rye Whiskey 750mL
Alright I need to get my thoughts about this before the fold as there will be a treat for you. Speaking of treats this whiskey is certainly one for your tastebuds, of course that’s if you consider being kicked in the teeth as a treat. This is not a whiskey you throw into a cocktail or have when you want a calm sipping whiskey at the end of the day. This is a bar whiskey that you have when you want to wake up or if life has gotten just a little too boring.
