We’ve done the Bourbon before which was middling in all but some ice, so now let’s check out the Rye. Thankfully we can say while it’s fine that the Indiana company wasn’t good at bourbon, they do know their way around a rye. We do wish this was better though at that which we want from a rye – an old fashioned, but alas it’s good even when neat so we can’t complain too hard.
Goodlife Brewing Company Sweet As Pacific Ale
Sweet As Pacific Ale: 5.5 – It’s a pretty good ale. The hop flavor seems slightly odd here almost like a dry hopping, but not. Overall is refreshing, not too bold, and slightly above average for an ale.
Price Average: $10 for 6-pack

Rhum Barbancourt 4 Yr. Rum 750mL
Part of our review process is that we typically try the spirit first before we sit down for a proper review, and then we follow that up closer to the time of writing beyond the notes with a follow up tasting. This is mostly so we don’t end up with a bias of a single day, and let’s us adjust scores if necessary. This is a rum that’s benefited from that time, because at first blush it’s really not great – but give it some time and some cuba libres for a couple nights – and we’re sold.
Whalers Dry Hopped American Pale Ale
Whalers Dry Hopped American Pale Ale: 5.0 – It’s not super bitter, but certainly hoppy and citrusy. Overall it’s an okay beer, but nothing worth writing much more about.
Price Average: $11 for 6-pack cans

The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750mL
Okay seriously, we’ll have an actual review of Glenlevit 12 Yr soon. We always seem to forget it’s never been reviewed on this site until we do something like this – an offshoot – and then try to compare it scorewise to the standard outing. What we have here is some scotch, but finishes it’s aging instead in a rum cask. The effect is certainly something that has more rum elements, but does that make it better?
Fruh Kolsch
Fruh Kolsch: 5.0 – It’s overall pretty damn standard for a kolsch, nothing to wow – but nothing to distract. Average is the key word of the day it seems.
Price Average: $3

Roku Japanese Craft Gin 750mL
If you’ve been paying attention – we’re sort of a gin streak here, and of the 3 this might be our most well liked overall, but not necessarily the best of the bunch
Castle Island ‘Candlepin’ American Pale Ale
Candlepin: 5.0 – It’s a pretty hoppy pale, and there’s enough citrus to make it not terrible. Its overall about average for what you’d expect from a pale.
Side Note: Candlepin bowling is dumb @me in the comments all you want.
Price Average: $3

Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750mL
Now we’ve previously had an offshoot from the Bruichladdich in the form of Port Charlotte – which was *heavily* peated. Here though with the good old classic it’s actually un-peated relying wholly on barley for it’s flavor.
