This is ostensibly a site to review hooch. As such we feel it’s worthy to add a disclaimer here – while this is a breakfast gin we do not recommend gin for breakfast. Try cereal or regular orange juice, please. If you need a pick me up go with coffee or tea, please. Now let’s move into the alternate reality where gin for breakfast is apparently a thing.

Whitley Neill Small Batch Handcrafted Dry Gin 750mL
This as far as we can reasonably tell is the first spirit we have from the African continent. This excludes wine of course, and technically this is made in the UK, but at least it’s technically correct. The botanicals here really do produce a gin that is very unique.
Nautical American Gin 750mL
The idea of a Nautically themed spirit interested us (largely because our DnD group just took a pirate ship – yeah we’re a pack of nerds). Sadly this was received about as well as a splash of salt water. (And we don’t mean in a refreshing slap to the face kind of way.
Cotswolds Dry Gin 750mL
Greetings folks, it looks like someone actually had the gall to send us something to review even after we laid out our terms. On the one hand it’s highly unlikely they were expecting or wanting a 6.5 level score as that’d be the death knell on most sites. As hopefully faithful readers of this site know though – that extra 1.5 from average was well fought and won.
Broker’s Premium London Dry Gin 750mL
If we had a bank of mottos here at HBR one of them would be ‘what goes in the bottle is the most important part.’ This is because we were raised on the values of ‘it’s what’s inside that counts’. However it’s hard to knock a gin when the Gentlemanly look is taken to the extreme of giving a bottle a hat.
Gin Lane 1751 London Dry Gin 750mL
This is a gin.
Boodles British Gin 750mL
Alright continuing our last week of gin coverage with Uncle Val’s we have another offering that looks good in the bar, but is bad in the glass. Boodles looks spot-on for what you’d expect from a British gin, but it also tastes like the British gins you’ve heard the horror stories about.
Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin 750mL
Conceived in the golden coasts of California, made in the clear waters of Oregon, a recipe going back to the walls of Lucca Italy itself we have Uncle Val’s gin. A gin that is quite simply – a mid-tier wannabe high-tier gin. (oshi-)
The Botanist Gin 750mL
Before we delve into another month or so of scotch (we went to Scotland, fight us. Good news is it will end with a distillery tour of Oban, including special versions!) we’ll first review a gin. From Scotland. What we didn’t feel like going that far.
Puerto de Indias Sevilian Premium Gin 750mL
Nobody expects the Spanish Ginquisition! (We deeply apologize for the groaning sound you just made). Anyway while here in the UK it felt appropriate to partake of the spirit for which England is known for. However getting a London gin was too on the nose so we went to Spain. What we found was overpriced, a little hot, and overall disappointing. So Spain. (We deeply apologize to the Spanish people)
