Trillium Brewing – Fort Point Pale Ale
Fort Point Pale Ale: 6.0 – It’s a hoppy american pale, but thankfully the mango, peach and some sort of citrus don’t make it sugary but add a filling sort of flavor to the rest of beer. It’s enjoyable, and while there is certainly a decent amount going on it’s abrupt not lingering very long.

Allagash Avancé Bourbon Barrel Aged Sour Ale
Avancé: 8.0 – It’s a bit weird to go from a sour that’s aged as that certainly has an aspect here, giving this a sort of graham cracker like feeling, and of course that’s complemented by the heavy strawberry flavoring. The result is like almost cheesecake like but w/o the cream and also it’s a beer. One does wonder if they made it with lactaid if it could pull off such a feat, but as is it’s a decidedly delicious and unique beer nonetheless.

Luksusowa Triple Distilled Potato Vodka 750mL
Another day, another polish vodka where you have to stop from making the ‘more like shoe polish’ joke. Not because we malign Poland, but because their vodkas can be a real mixed bag. This at least is well on the cheaper scale, but as we’ve found probably the most in the case of vodka – something cheap can be good. This is not.
Brasserie de la Senne – Bruxellensis
Bruxellensis: 5.0 – For a brett amber it’s surprisingly tame. Oh sure you can sense that the brett is there, but it’s not gone feral. Overall though it’s muted and the taste is very abruptly there and then gone with just a hint of brett lingering and not much else.

Loch Lomond 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750mL
There is a rule of design where you put the most valuable information closer to the top-left as most people look there first (obviously our Arabic or Japanese readers would disagree among others). As such we too could not ignore the elephant that is is apparently the official spirit for golf, the King’s Game, or as we call it – a good walk spoiled. (One of our reviewers does occasionally golf, but we’re not sorry)
Brewery De Dolle Dulle Teve Tripel
Dulle Teve: 7.0 – The nutty and banana flavors are great here. This reminds you of what tripels should be, in terms of being filling, delicious, sweet but nutty, and not just a slightly odder pale as some have done of late. Well done.

Old Mexico Oro (Gold) Tequila 750mL
Week 2 of the ‘Old Mexico’ brand our fury at them has only continued to grow in the interim. There is some saving grace here as this is not as terrible as last week’s Blanco, but that’s quite a low ankle height bar to clear. These for the same price so there’s no other way to say this – but go for the gold.
