Well I had a recent stint across the pond, and a load of time at the airport before my return. So of course I walked around the duty-free shop looking for something neat that I’ve not seen in a local store. However with a very distinctive color and name (and let’s be fair the brand of Auchentoshan is a friend) the choice was quite obvious.
Iron Maiden Trooper 666
Trooper 666: 6.0 – This is most certainly a british-style beer, and it is uniquely tasty. However while this might be British-style, and the odd metal/Iron Maiden is cool, but I would never serve this warm.

Foster’s Lager
Foster’s Lager: 3.0 – I will admit that this does not taste like what I think piss tastes like. It does however taste like Australians piss if it was halfway through a sanitation procedure to turn it into water. That being said it could be worse?

Cane Run Estate Original Rum 750mL
I wish this was called Cane Run Sugar Cane Rum just for the wordplay alone. In short though we have a non-gimmicky fairly standard white rum that does not do much to not fade into the background of where it sits on a store shelf. Not that we take issue with that – some of our favorites barely standout, and the few with pizzazz are often left wanting in other areas.
Rock Art American Red Ale
American Red: 5.0 – It’s a fine red ale but it lacks a certain tartness that I would want more of from a red though.

Stella Artois Premium Lager
Stella Artois: 3.5 – That was almost nearly containing enough taste to not be considered water, sadly it’s like making love in a canoe.

Ron Medellin Anejo Rum 750mL
This was a gift to the lounge, and while I am always gracious to accept gifts I knew almost instantly this was a mistake. Especially when once again I have encountered the new dreaded style of pour-sprout that requires a kickstart. Yes folks once again we have another spiced rum (apologies for all of the scotch we just finished).
Rock Art Whitetail Golden Ale
Whitetail: 3.0 – As far as Golden Ales go I am just not a fan. It’s not offensive or just par, but something is very wrong with it.
