7-Hills Session Ale: 6.0 – It’s a good flavor, but it’s not a great farmhouse beer.

Apparently there is an actual day called Bastille Day (and there go the the French readers), and I decided to actually pick this up on said day. I bought it mostly though because look at the damn thing – it’s magnificent, fairly good value, and if you asked if it was more a bourbon or a scotch I’d wonder if the Frenchie is wearing a kilt.
Doom Bar: 3.5 – Sadly for a beer named doom this merely a sigh. It’s certainly not a standard hoppy beer but it’s muted and has a terrible taste. You can do a bitter beer where it’s not just awful, but they have not.

Ommegang Aphrodite: 7.0 – It’s a very nice wine/peach kind of flavor with a more champagne/cider feel to it. Honestly it’s not as good, but a cousin to FV13 and Interlude.

Avocado Honey Ale: 5.5 – For what I was expecting out of a California Avocado/Honey hippie beer, this is actually a fairly good and unique tasting ale. Sadly I am not a huge avocado fan and my likes of this beer is that such flavor is subtle, but my dislike being that it’s still there.
Google Shop Average: Avocado Honey Ale $14

Stella Artois: 4.0 – While it’s easy drinking it’s just not a great tasting beer. It’s over quickly though so at least it doesn’t linger.

This has been a long time coming, and it’s clear to see why. Despite the pair of reviews being one of the most viewed and talked about things on this site – we are not fans of E&J based on their lackluster XO, and their dismal VSOP. However those familiar with their brandy/cognac tiers know that there is a step younger (worse?) than VSOP – the VS. We said we would start getting more brandy and cognac – and that brings us to today.
Maredsous Abbey Ale: 5.5 – A very interesting tasting Belgium beer with a nice taste, but not one I’m that much of a fan of.

805 Blonde Ale: 6.0 – Very easy to drink, and has a great taste for a blonde. My only real complaint is that the taste just dies out really quickly.
