Ballantine Ale: 4.0 – There’s a briskness to the hops as an initial taste, but then it basically becomes watery and not that great.
Google Shop Average: Ballantine Ale $6 for 6-Pack

Narragansett Oktoberfest: 3.0 – Yes I know we are a bit farther from October, but there were so many other good fall beers we wanted to have on the site that this got moved to backlog. This is likely because this is such a weak october fest beer. We’re really not a fan and while we love regular Gansett during the summer – it’s should stay there.

A cognac? On Honest Booze Reviews? Yes despite the debacle that was us trying to break into things we don’t typically review with our brandy reviews of the VSOP and XO – it’s high time we start including brandies and congnacs into our spirits rosters. And despite E&J garnering the most views on a single review – lets do something a bit higher on the shelf.
Bruery 6 Geese A-Laying: 6.0 – It’s interesting, sort of more like a red ale but without any cut. As for a winter ale here you appreciate the 11.5% more than the beer itself.

High and Mighty Fumata Bianca: 6.75 – This beer can be best described as some wheat and rye and smoke just being ‘on it’ as far as the beer goes.

Tequila lovers rejoice because Honest Booze Reviews is committed to trying and not just review scotches (he says knowing last weeks post). Anyway this week we come to something I bought just because of the art on the bottle intrigued me – a clear motif for Mexico’s Day of the Dead.
Apologies for no post last week, but Jim canceled for Holidays and I didn’t have an extra post available.
Tree House Ma: 6.5 – Very bold and upfront, event the smell is intoxicatingly powerful. Not a huge fan of at first actually, but it grows on you.

Gordon Biersch Maibock: 5.0 – Another Gordon Biersch beer (although I had this on tap). It starts off as a nice maibock flavor but the kind of peters out and really has a piss poor aftertaste.
Google Shop Average: Gordon Biersch Maibock $5 for a pint
