We didn’t actually plan this ahead of time or after the fact (we’re not actually supervillains living in a volcano lair), but we feel it would be in poor taste to not address the current issue facing Hawaii with regards to earthquakes and eruptions and the loss of peoples homes. We’ll have a link to help after the fold, but in truth, we bought this because it looked like a mana potion.

Now before we move on we should address that while the above might be true we will hold nothing back in the below review. We are an objective review site, and even if your island is currently a million degrees we’ll still tell you your vodka is shit.
What they Say: “Bottle: Distilled and bottle by Hawaii sea spirits LLC in Kula, Maui, Hawaii. Certified organic by OCTO. Distilled from organic sugarcane.
Literature: Ocean Organic Vodka is crafted in the Hawaiian Islands and named in tribute to the Earth’s oceans. Our award-winning vodka is made from natural sugar cane and deep ocean mineral water creating the perfectly balanced taste and finish for the ultimate cocktail.”
Taste: 7.0 – That nice creamy vodka carries over from the aroma into the initial taste, and it’s actually quite pleasant.
Aftertaste: 4.0 – It then decides to stand up and say HELLO. THIS IS VODKA.
Burn/Smooth: 3.0 – That burn isn’t like a gut reaction or even a pucker face. It’s like a whiskey lying in wait before it strikes, and boy does it. Sadly we don’t award points for vodka to do that.
Aroma: 7.5 – Well it doesn’t smell like the ocean so at least it’s not a gimmick. Instead, it’s simply above par with a hint of creme. While we might wish for a nice salty breeze, instead we just get a good vodka aroma.
Honesty: 6.5 – Oh good you’re award-winning. NO ONE CARES. AWARDS ARE ALL BULLSHIT. That aside perfectly balanced isn’t the right term to use, but there’s little at fault beyond that. Even that text is considerably extra. Add that to the blue mana potion looking bottle that sits on your shelf and who cares if they won an award or kinda lied.
Mixability: 6.75
Vodka Tonic: 6.0 – That for all intents and purposes might as well be gone.
White Russian: 7.5 – It does add a creamier element, and you don’t get the overwhelming problems from the aftertaste/burn so overall it’s a pretty damn successful and tasteful white Russian.
Value: 4.5 – That does seem rather high; however the cost of import/export to Hawaii is traditionally high enough to not count it as American. While that makes a good Russian, the value here is owning that bottle and kind of wishing you could easily pull off the sticker and remove the raised lettering. Owning a bottle once though is still bad value.

Final Thoughts: The point disparity there is that this is still a really cool looking vodka, and it makes a damn fine Russian. That’s all we really ask for in a vodka, and while yes a nice super clean vodka you can enjoy on the rocks is always welcome – it’s fine to not be there.
