Again we delve a bit into some grandstanding American bottom shelf vodkas. It’s a bit annoying that this tries to look Russian too hard. I actually bought this for infusing under the guise of – the flavor I am putting in will remove any of the flaws here (well usually most of them), but aside from it’s lying and aftertaste this as far as budget vodkas go is not bad really.
Sam Adams Noble Pils
Sam Adams Noble Pils: 5.0 – It’s an okay beer overall. It has all the characteristic you exppect from a Pils, but it does nothing to distinguish itself.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro Lager
Peroni Nastro Azzurro: 2.0 – I finally found it, this beer was actually my first beer I’d ever had while studying abroad at a pizza place. I hated it then and it nearly ruined beer for me until I tried Guiness months later. Objectively though (not easy) it’s like a more bitter Heineken so at least it has a taste.

Speyburn Arranta Casks Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750mL
Another scotch gift to the lounge this time a Speyside instead of an Islay, and while this is not an Islay scotch it also manages to disappoint my personal tastes. This is clearly a Speyside scotch, and I think it’s main issue is this is a special release made for the United States.
Samuel Adams Session Ale ESB
Samuel Adams Session Ale: 5.0 – It’s fine tasting, and for an ESB it’s not crushingly bitter to be unbearable. However it really feels less like they wanted to make an ESB instead of they felt it was another notch in their belt.

Tiger Lager
Tiger Lager: 4.0 – It’s fairly standard as beers go if just a little subpar. It’s likely a symptom of globalization that a beer made in Saigon but licensed to brew in the UK tastes like any average beer.

Admiral Nelson’s Black Patch Black Spiced Rum 750mL
Alright so we’ve not really branched out far into dark rums, I would say we still only have a handful by now, but the good news is that the popularity of the Kraken has ‘inspired’ other companies to try and get some of that sweet sweet money. While this is good news for those wanting a variety of darker rums, maybe we should have left it to the professionals.
