I think this will be the last of the reasonably priced silver tequilas that we’ve been trying this year. As they keeping having faults that make it really hard to justify not spending a bit more. At least with what we’ve seen with Reposado there is a variance. Here we either get a terrible sweetness mixed with bland flavoring, or the flavor is off to the point of wondering what exactly they are doing to your spirit.

Casamigos’ Reposado Tequila 750mL
Well they can’t all be winners. Darn once again in an effort to express honest opinions we’ve given the review away. Yes folks this is a tequila that I thankfully picked up a small bottle for while it was cheap in New Hampshire, because quite frankly if I paid a full price for this I would be nothing short of enraged.
Sauza Gold Tequila 750mL
Well it’s the just about the 5th of May and without actually trying we are actually reviewing a tequila on the fabled day. (We normally do an Irish Whiskey because we get the Irish and Mexicans confused) However though we aren’t doing some good tequila, instead it’s some fairly standard budget tequila (my budget was strapped for tequila with that Anejo)
El Zarco Silver Tequila 750mL
Another Silver tequila that I’ve picked up in lieu of a party (why my friend can’t handle other tequilas is beyond me). This one is a bit interesting because it’s a much more value price. It also is not sickengly sweet or downright awful – in fact the only real complaint about this is the Eurotrash look and feel.
Riazul Premium Anejo Tequila 750mL
I think (confirmed) this is our first Anejo tequila – and if you go buy the ‘reviews’ on the bottle giving this 94/100 points from tequila.net, and being #1 in blind tasting of 164 anejos – it’s possible we have a really good one? Honestly though while this is certainly a bold and distinctive blend of flavors – it’s not exactly a fan favorite here.
901 Silver Tequila 750mL
A friend of mine was recently meant to come over for a get together – and asked if the Buffalo Lounge was sporting silver tequila. Of course having recently killed the sickeningly sweet tequilas from recent reviews all I had was some reposado‘s. I told my friend however that said stuff was actually good, but that I’d pick up a silver anyway.
El Espolón Reposado Tequila 750mL
Tequila lovers rejoice because Honest Booze Reviews is committed to trying and not just review scotches (he says knowing last weeks post). Anyway this week we come to something I bought just because of the art on the bottle intrigued me – a clear motif for Mexico’s Day of the Dead.
Olmeca Altos Reposado Tequila 750mL
I’m not gonna lie – I wish the raised lettering on this wasn’t there so I could upcycle this as a decanter (it also has a screw cap, so bleh). Anyway figured I’d throw in another tequila since I picked one up for cheap(er) at New Hampshire. I was going for something not too expensive, but that could be an actual tequila compared to some of the things we tried recently a while back.
KAH Reposado Tequila 750mL
This week to break up the vodka shit reviews (I swear next week is not on the bottom shelf, but the top) we instead review a top shelf vodka that can certainly be described as unique. If only because I can imagine a drunk 50 cent asking: WHERE’S MY SKULL.
Familia Camarena Tequila Reposado 750mL
Well then I think it’s about time we seriously started moving into reviewing the previously untapped market for us – namely tequilas that are not silver. In order to ease this more than previous attempts – we decided to grab the reposado of a silver that we actually like.
