Our wine tasting store occasionally has a spirit or beer as a sidebar to their normal wine tastings. This week they had some Four Roses (which we don’t have the review since we tend to take a bit more time to appreciate a spirit that a public tasting can’t provide.) They did however have something else which we feel we can talk about.
We’re BACK! We’re back now as Honest Booze Reviews, giving you honest, bullshit free, non-paid reviews of Beer, Spirits, and Wine. To kick things off let’s start with Larceny Bourbon. A fairly new kid to the block, which while not bad in terms of taste and smoothness – lacks a completeness to it. Yes while this may be a new site, we’ve not changed our policy of telling it like it is, view more for the full breakdown.
Finally we come to the last spirit reviewed from Nauticon and while my comrades rated this overall I personally will be going over the finer details of this bourbon. Why? Because the Buffalo and Bourbon go together like – well fuck – buffalos and bourbon I guess.
So we’ll be going over the reviews from the Live @ Nauticon event in the following month, but to give us some time to heal and sit down to actually write everything up we’ve decided to include a review into our repertoire that honestly we should have already done a year and a half ago.
In keeping with the “Old Timey Wimey” theme from last week we’ve reviewed another bourbon. We had planned to have an Old Crow review this one since we got ol’ granddad Buffalo to review last weeks, but apparently crows just squawk and shout anti-semitic statements. Who knew? So this week it’s back to a regular reviewer more commonly known as BuffaloJern.
Now sit down squirts because ol’ man Buffalo has got some stories to tell. Back in the war – kid voice: “ which war?” – the WAR WITH CANADA ya brat! Anyway back in the war only 3 things kept you going – the promise of your woman back home waiting for ya, the knowledge that your bullets, knives, and fists have killed more Canadians than you’ll remember – and whiskey – good old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

Yes, yet another St. Patrick’s day has come and gone, complete with bits of green hastily thrown into your outfit, strange foods most of us wouldn’t normally eat, and Booze. Lots and lots of Booze. This St. Patty’s day William Henri Neve IV and myself sat down with some Irish whiskey and now I’d like to present one of them to you.
So you’ve had the last two weeks to mull over the lower rungs of the Jack Daniels line, but here we come to the top of the top for JD’s take on Tennessee Whiskey. There are very few American whiskies that we’ve enjoyed tasting more than Single Barrel and while it’s not perfect it’s a fantastic whiskey.
