If you recall I mentioned a story in my Seagram’s review about my first real experience with gin, and that Seagrams, Black Watch, and Gilbey’s were really – terrible gins, but because I had so much of them, I eventually broke through my general dislike of gin, and now fully appreciate a good gin spirit.
However the years have not been kind to my thoughts on this gin, and make no mistake this is a pretty substandard gin. It’s just another in the category of gins with Gordon’s and Seagram’s where it’s cheap and bad, but it’s not even that cheap compared to actually good budget things like New Amsterdam.
What they Say: “” (not much to say)
Taste: 3.0 – The taste here isn’t offensive, but it’s just not good tasting.
Aftertaste: 4.0 – Here you get a sense of what they were trying but it feels more like a slick.
Burn/Smooth: 5.0 – Because of that slick it does go down easily, and it’s not actually a bad burn.
Aroma: 4.0 – It smells like bad memories, but mostly substandard gin.
Honesy: 5.0 – This mostly just doesn’t do anything to discredit itself.
Mixability: 3.0
Gin and Tonic: 2.0 – That taste just carries over into the tonic, it may have actually gotten worse. Now I know why I hated this gin.
Red Baron: 4.0 – It’s okay in orange juice, but that slick feeling is still there.
Value: 5.0 – You get what you pay for.

Final Thoughts: Any gin that makes a bad gin and tonic, and isn’t a martini gin – had failed as a gin. You can taste bad, and burn like a mofo – as long as you get me a passable G&T.
while I agree that it’s not a good gin per say, this stuff goes killer in a gin buck or with dr. pepper.
anyone that thinks New Krapastam is better than Gordon’s just shows their stupity… I wouldn’t trust your opinion on anything…
New Amsterdam is a perfectly fine vodka in gin bottle.
