A barbican is basically a tower/fort situated on a gateway over say a bridge or wall entrance. Particularly this one is referring to the Warsaw Barbican. Now if you are wondering why we are starting this review talking about some structure and what it has to do with vodka – it’s a good question. Because we don’t know either *makes side glance at brand*

Soplica Vodka 750mL
We do want to assure people that next week’s review will actually – be something good, and while we do have 2 really bad ones in a row – that’s sort of what happens when you roll the dice on these things. If only there was a – wait no – too meta. Anyway, we get a vodka from Poland that says almost nothing, but what’s inside screams volumes.
Polander Lager Beer
Polander: 2.0 – The spice there is just odd, and it’s very much an upfront part of the beer that actually makes it kind of a stinker to drink. The taste isn’t going to win hearts and minds, and as a lager it’s really subpar.
Price Average: $3

Sobieski Estate Vodka Single Rye 750mL
If we’ve ever laid anything of simmering anger at the door of Belvedere it’s that some people associate it and their frosted bottle with higher tier vodka (it’s not). So strap in folks because this will not be a kind review to Sobieski which would be better served clearing snow off of your skiing boots than sipped back at the lodge.
(Disclaimer we have no idea how skiing works, and if that’s a thing you do)
Belvedere Vodka (Product RED Edition) 750mL
Time for a vodka review that you’d think we’d have already clearly done – but we haven’t. Yes up there among the Ciroc and the Grey Goose is a Polish vodka known for being skinny and having trees and a French sounding name.
Zubrowka ZU Bison Grass Vodka 500mL
It has been a lot longer than we thought since we reviewed a Bison Grass vodka. Bak’s was way so long ago back in 2011, a time before so many things went wrong. While that was creamy and mixed rather well, here we get less bison grass, and more – grass? Okay it’s not a perfect metaphor, but in short this has some earthy ‘ness’ to it, but that’s not really a good thing.
Okocim Beer
Okocim : 3.0 – That is a beer I guess it’s really just a generic Pils but it has so little there that I kind of actually hate it. I will admit that the pirogi’s I had at the Polish restaurant with this were much better though.
Price Average: Okocim $7 for 4-pack

Spud Potato Vodka 750mL
Not gonna lie folks but the next few weeks are just vodka’s and whiskies from Scotland and Ireland. All summer was more interesting and seasonal things, but it’s back to doing what we likely do a bit too much of. By which I mean trying to take those large walls of vodka from your local store and tell you why 85% of it should be flat out avoided. Hey speaking of.
