I actually tried this a while back at Armsby Abbey (local bar in Worcester that’s just awesome, if just a little pretentious). I had seen Bully Boy as a fairly new release in a few places, but figured I’d get a taste before randomly buying it.

Victory Wild Devil Ale (IPA)
Victory Wild Devil Ale: 8.0 – First to be fair as a beer overall this is a 6 at best, and I was tricked into thinking it was a wild ale, when in fact it is an IPA – now I’ve tried many IPA’s but eagle eyed viewers will notice we have no reviews of it (which I’m certain ruins our beer and hipster cred) this is because we hate IPA’s. All of them, like as a category they are basically awful. However for this it doesn’t taste like an IPA (read: weed, your shitty beer tastes like weed you West Coast beer nerds) and while it’s certainly as hoppy as say an American pale, it’s not too hoppy, and there’s other flavors going on as well. So in that regards it gets in 8 for being the only good IPA.

Shiner Prickly Pear Ale
Shiner Prickly Pear Ale: 4.5 – I don’t think I’ve ever had a beer with pear in it, and while it’s a nice tart little thing, I’m not entirely sure I’d have it again though. That might just be the pear though, so I won’t hold that against this too much.
Google Shop Average: Shiner Prickly Pear Ale $7 for 6-Pack (with mixed pack)

Muirhead’s Silver Seal 16 Year Speyside Scotch Whisky 750mL
That is a very pretty bottle…but it makes me wonder if its possible for a scotch to look a bit too Scottish.
Ommegang Wild at Heart American Wild Ale
Ommegang Wild at Heart: 6.5– This is a very flavorful and tasty wild yeast beer, and doesn’t seem to have any drawbacks, but it’s fairly standard as far as unique yeast beers go.

Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale
Shiner Wild Hare Pale Ale: 6.5 – It’s actually got a lot of nice flavor to it, and isn’t just hop city. These Shiner beers have been mostly middling, but this is certainly the best so far.

Grand Macnish 12 Year Blended Scotch Whisky 750mL
Yes it’s more scotch. Come fight me if you have a problem with that. Anyway this week we discuss one of our more recent finds, and one that we love – because so far we’ve yet to find a 12 year (albeit blended) scotch for this price point that we can drink time and time again and still enjoy it.
