Continuing our branching out – let’s try a Canadian whiskey. Since we haven’t done many Canadian whiskey, I figured I’d make sure to get one from Canada (It’s in the name!)
There’s not much to say about this other than if you are look for some bottle shelf Canadian whiskey, with the ten dollar price tag to match.
What they Say: “This blended Canadian whiksy is at least 36 months old. Imported & bottled by Brown-Forman beverages Louisville, KY”
Taste: 6.0 – We can see here where the sweet smell comes from, and it’s okay.
Aftertaste: 3.5 – As is with most cheap stuff though the aftertaste is mostly unpleasant.
Burn/Smooth: 5.0 – It doesn’t burn, again the weird metallic aftertaste doesn’t make this smooth drinking, but the warmth is nice.
Aroma: 5.0 – It’s not an offensive smell, and the little bit of caramel is nice. But it smells more like a sweet rum than a whiskey.
Honesty: 6.0 – Despite what you would think I’m not detracting points for Canada, because despite the French they can be cool; however while the text is not wanky – the fact that they say 36 months and not 3 years just to try and sound more impressive is a demerit.
W/ Rocks: 6.0 – It certainly dulls a lot of the various flavors that were offensive, but it’s not a solid improvement.
Whiskey & Ginger Ale: 7.0 – It’s a fine whiskey and ginger ale, and unlike some you get both flavors.
Value: 5.5 – I mean you pay for what you get.

Final Thoughts: I doubt I’d get again, even Canadian Club is a better whiskey despite costing a bit a more.
