Allagash Dubbel
Allagash Dubbel: 5.5 –I am overall quite a fan of the taste, and it’s another solid beer from Allagash. It however is not a great beer, and I was hoping for a bit more from Allagash and a bit more in a dubbel.
Google Shop Average: Allagash Dubbel $9

Woodstock Inn Brewery Pigs Ear Brown Ale
Pigs Ear Brown Ale: 6.0 – It’s got a sweet flavor to it, but it’s not a sugary mess like some beers with a sweet tooth. That being said I sort of dislike the sweetness to the beer.
Google Shop Average: Pigs Ear Brown Ale $6 draft

Cold River Traditional Gin 750mL
Alright time for some gin since it’s been a while (and we’ve fallen into the trap of just getting New Amsterdam and Tanqueray 10 all over again.) For the first gin (yes there will be another next week) we went with an American gin which comes to us from Maine.
Kelsen Paradigm Brown Ale
Kelsen Paradigm Brown Ale: 5.5 – Quite hoppy for a brown ale. I’m not a terribly huge fan of it, but it is an otherwise solid beer.
Google Shop Average: Kelsen Paradigm Brown Ale $7 draft

Ayinger Dunkel
Dunkel: 6.0 – A lot of good flavor overall here, and it has a unique balance between fruityness, meatyness, and beeryness.
Google Shop Average: Dunkel $5

Nikka Whiskey 12yr Taketsuru 750mL
Our part 2 of New Hampshire scotch adventures, and of course some people just muttered/shouted that this is not in fact scotch. This is due to the fact that it actually comes from Japan despite its presence in the scotch aisle of every store. Japan has been making waves recently in the whiskey market, most notably with Sunatory buying many whiskey making companies, and with it’s own well-known/imported whiskies. Hibiki and this, Nikka.
Ayinger Weizenbock
Weizenbock: 4.0 – It’s certainly a tasteful beer, but overall the taste isn’t that overwhelming or desirable. I feel like you could find something to pair this with food-wise and the tastes would complement each other, but otherwise I’m not a fan.
Google Shop Average: Weizenbock $5

Von Trapp Helles Lager
Helles Lager: 5.0 – As far as hoppy lagers go, this is actually quite easy to drink, but is not overwhelming in taste that would make it terrible.
Google Shop Average: Helles Lager $18 for 24-pack
