Islington Steam Lager: 3.5 – The best way to describe this is imagine if a nut brown ale, and a milk stout had sex. Now that sounds like said child would be awesome, but in reality it’s not.

Super Bock: 4.5 – Wow that tastes like beer. Like the beer-y kinda of beer. The kind of beer that’s… beer-y. Not to be confused with berry as that, and truly anything would be too exotic for this beer. You could call this a five, but it’s so annoying we’ll drop 0.5

We have a theory. To preface there is an exception in the Johnnie Walker name, but otherwise it hold’s true. If a scotch is named after a person and not a place, it’s a worse scotch. We see this with things like Grant’s, Justerini & Brook’s, and now Bell’s. We attribute this to what we call ‘the just because an old man got people to buy something doesn’t make it good.’ The world is full of con men, and sometimes they make spirits.
Camden Ink Stout: 5.5 –The ink naming here is very apt. While this isn’t heavy or syrupy it does have a deeply roasted almost acrid flavor to it. However rather than leaving that in your mouth it ends cleanly like a passing squid.

Bishops Finger: 5.0 – It’s nice, and there’s a good sweetness at the end. Not sure why its called a strong ale as its not heavy on gravity or flavor, and at 5 percent its fairly standard alcohol wise. Which is a true overall description of this beer.

Nobody expects the Spanish Ginquisition! (We deeply apologize for the groaning sound you just made). Anyway while here in the UK it felt appropriate to partake of the spirit for which England is known for. However getting a London gin was too on the nose so we went to Spain. What we found was overpriced, a little hot, and overall disappointing. So Spain. (We deeply apologize to the Spanish people)
Gentlemen’s Wit: 4.5 – its okay but there’s an off taste that is sort of nutty to it. It’s fresh from a tap, but it tastes kind of skunked. (Note we tried this again to confirm, but the result is the same)

Badger Tangle Foot: 6.5 – So the issue here with these kind of reviews is that while this has some characteristics of lesser beers there is the right mixture of aftertaste lingering yet the majority of the beer ending clean. Its not delicious, but it is tasty and certainly can be enjoyed, and dare say is one of the beat of the poster so far

Continuing our foray on the British Isles we have a low-tier blended scotch. Because London is expensive dammit, and if we risk purchasing a good scotch we’ll make sure it’s good first. (by checking our handy-dandy website). While this might not win any height competitions with it’s shelf position, it’s actually quite nice.
