Springdale ‘Kriek Mythology’ Oak Aged Sour Ale with Cherries

Kriek Mythology: 8.0 – It’s been a good decent while since a sour actually knocked us on our ass, recently it’s been awash of subpar and mediocre outings. Everything just having a hint of tartness, and sadly very little funk. It’s not too much a surprise that the skunkworks of Jack’s Abby in Springdale did well here. Their past outings were a mix, but down to the barrel. As for this? Well you are gonna have to like cherries friend, but it is shockingly tart, incredibly refreshing, and fruity as well as funky. When you ask for a sour you are asking for some wild shit, and this fits the bill.

Jack’s Abby ‘Pride and Parquet’ Hoppy Lager

Pride and Parquet: 5.0 – On the one hand, we’re pleased to try another Lager given how shafted it’s been over here with so many ales as of the last few years. It being from good ol’ Jack’s Abby is a welcome sight, but then they gotta throw some basketball stuff at us and who needs that? Answer Boston people which this is clearly catering too, but how is it for everyone else in the world? Well it’s good they put hoppy there so you’re not surprised. It’s not amazingly tasty or flavorful, but we guess if you were in a pub watching the game – it doesn’t have to be.

Jack’s Abby Kiwi Rising

Jack’s Abby Kiwi Rising: 5.0 – Damn a double IPL? I was foolish to think a Jacks Abby draft would suit me. That being said the hops are center stage and are too much. Thankfully the tropical and pepper flavor provides some complexity. I now want to try a tropical shandy with this. The problem with that though is a beer should be good on it’s own.
