Few Breakfast Gin 750mL

This is ostensibly a site to review hooch. As such we feel it’s worthy to add a disclaimer here – while this is a breakfast gin we do not recommend gin for breakfast. Try cereal or regular orange juice, please. If you need a pick me up go with coffee or tea, please. Now let’s move into the alternate reality where gin for breakfast is apparently a thing.

If you had asked whether a gin should be infused with tea we probably would have answered nothankyou.jpg. After reviewing this though we confidently say stillnothanks.mp3 because ugh. It’s not entirely clear what this is supposed to be other than for rich people making their morning tea and can’t get through the day without some sauce.

What they Say: “Think Gin is just for Breakfast? Think again. Traditional English bergamot infused Earl Grey tea meets a half stack of European Juniper and a dollop of lemon peel. Savour this unexpected twist and explore beyond the tried and traditional. Morning, noon, or night.”

Taste: 6.0 – It’s light and almost not there, but there’s a warm gin taste that overpowers and it does not go away.

Aftertaste: 3.5 – That has a kick which for a breakfast gin is not desired at all – or is it?

Burn/Smooth: 3.0 – That odes burn quote mightly so.

Aroma: 4.0 – Smells like the most stereotypical gin in existence. It’s the opposite of unique or good.

Honesty: 5.0 – The thought of gin for breakfast has never crossed our minds, but go on. The earl grey aspect of this gin removes all of the ‘gravitas’ it gets from trying to be a breakfast gin. Overall it’s just okay.

Mixability: 5.5

Gin and Tonic: 5.0 – Makes an okay G&T.

Red Baron: 6.0 – Fairly standard baron, nothing to write home about,

Value: 2.5– Quite simply? That price is monstrously too high for what it’s worth. If you charge 37$ for this, fuck you.

Google Shop Average: $37

Final Thoughts: If you’re wondering who pissed in our cheerios to make us dislike this gin down to its very concept – it’s the thought of someone putting this in our damn cheerios under the guise of ‘breakfast’. Here’s some consumer advice – if you’re going to drink breakfast in the wee hours of the morn – at least make it Gordon’s so you’re not lying to yourself.
