Ciroc Vodka 750mL

Okay then let’s finish strong with these recent vodka reviews. I mean Ciroc must be good, I hear about it all the time in that rap music I listen too. (Note this is a joke, the only rap I like is Aesop Rock, and while he might be talking about Ciroc my mind can’t understand anyway)

I never really understood why this was such a big hit and massively seller. Than I saw the 30 Rock episode with the champagne they try to sell and the lights clicked on. At the end of the day this is slightly above average in terms of taste, but everything else destroys it as a worthy contender in my bar.

What they Say: “Distilled from fine French grapes. Imported. Ciroc is an inspired vodka distilled from fine French grapes. At the heart if this unique vodka are select grapes grown high in the Gaillac region of France. This innovation in French craftsmanship uses a cold fermentation process, unique in the world of vodka, preserving the grapes’ distinct freshness. Distilled 5 times, this results in a taste experience that is refreshingly different and elegantly smooth. Go against the grain. Experience it and reveal in the unexpected. Be discerning. Drink responsibly. 40% Alc/Vol (80 Proof). Product of France”

Taste: 6.5 – It starts off like it’s going to be that nice creamy vodka you want.

Aftertaste: 3.0 – But then it all goes wrong, and my memories of Mr. Boston start coming back.

Burn/Smooth: 3.5 – Sadly that aftertaste is bad enough that this doesn’t exactly go down smoothly, it doesn’t really burn though as much.

Aroma: 6.5 – Finally a vodka that doesn’t smell like it will kill me (this last month has been brutal). It’s even a nice vodka smell.

Honesty: 5.0 – See on one hand there’s that French bullshit wank above, and on the other is a lot of rappers shooting me. I suppose a middling score is to be expected.

Mixability: 6.5

Vodka Tonic: 7.0 – That’s rather pleasant, and I feel like I can actually tell this is made from grapes.

White Russian: 6.0 – It’s a good Russian, but not great.

Value: 2.0 – Honestly that’s some shit value – over priced bullshit. I bought a miniature version and still paid like 15 bucks.

Google Shop Average: $37

Final Thoughts: I can honestly say I will never buy Ciroc again, and in truth that’s all that needs to be said.
